Additional Stimulus Measures

A reminder of previously announced assistance. Note that as time passes, further guidance is provided. We may now have further information available regarding the below. Please contact us if you believe you may be eligible for any of the below to discuss any relevant applicable criteria:

  • A new ‘shortcut method’ for claiming home office deductions at a set rate of 80 cents per hour. Please maintain a diary of hours worked from home. Read more
  • $1,500 payment per fortnight, per employee for businesses that have suffered a 30% loss in sales, including for sole traders and working directors, shareholders and beneficiaries. Read More
  • Commercial/retail lease rent payment deferrals or waivers for businesses eligible for Jobkeeper. This is now announced to be legislated and should be negotiated with your landlord. Read More
  • Payments for eligible businesses between of $20,000-$100,000 that employ people paid to your ATO account. Read More
  • Asset write off increased to $150,000 from $30,000. Read More
  • Subsidies of 50% of apprentice’s and trainee’s wage. Note, if Jobkeeper is received, the 50% subsidy can not be claimed for the same period as the Jobkeeper. Read More
  • Additional Jobseeker payments to support individuals and households, including soletraders up to $1100 a fortnight if family income is under $79,000 with eligibility criteria eased and with asset tests lifted. Read More
  • Early release of superannuation of $10,000 before 30 June 2020 plus an additional $10,000 before 24 September 2020. Read More
  • 50% Government guaranteed loans of a maximum $250,000. Read More
  • NSW Payroll tax waiver for the next three months and bringing forward of threshold increase. Read More
  • ATO lodgement and payment deferrals as well as interest and penalty remittances upon application. Read More
  • 6 months moratorium for both commercial and residential rental evictions
  • Up to 6 months loan repayment pause
  • Half paid annual leave duration extended
  • 2 weeks unpaid pandemic leave
  • No gap childcare
  • Increase in construction working hours. Read More
  • $10,000 NSW government grant for small businesses with 1-19 employees who have been highly impacted by the public health orders. Read More
  • 25% reduction in land tax if the savings are passed on to your tenants
  • Free online TAFE courses and discounted online University courses
