COVID Grants for Small Businesses in NSW
Many small business owners in New South Wales, Australia are struggling to keep their business afloat amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an uncertain time. However, there are government grants and loans they can take advantage of. Below is a detailed list.
$3,000 Small Business Grants
Small businesses and non-profits with under 20 full-time staff are eligible for recovery grants ranging from $500 to $3,000. The purpose of this grant is primarily to help smaller businesses reopen safely while adhering to sanitation and social distancing guidelines. The grant includes costs such as staff training, counselling, cleaning products, and advertising. The deadline to apply for this grant is 16 August 2020.
COVID-19 Assistance Finder
You can find benefits, rebates, and concessions that you may not have known existed by using the Service NSW COVID-19 Assistance Finder tool. This online tool is straightforward and accessible to business owners of every industry to find the financial support they need during this difficult time.
Employers Payments Cash Flow
The Australian Government is making $20,000 to $100,000 available to small and medium-sized businesses and non-profit organisations that have an annual turnover under $50 million. The payment comes as a form of credit to successful applicants from the ATO.
Creative Kids and Create NSW Grants
Create NSW is offering grants and other forms of assistance to Creative Kids providers and artists that operate through small or medium arts organisations. This includes small project grants, the COVID-19 rescue and restart package, a slate development fund for production companies, and much more. However, they focus primarily on providing digital adaptation grants, which organisations can use to transition towards offering online learning activities for kids. Unsure if your business or organisation qualifies? Contact Create NSW for more information and to determine your eligibility.
The Australian Government has designated almost $13 million towards supporting small and medium exporters across NSW. These funds are being used to create new jobs and support packages for exporters struggling under COVID-19. The support package is a $10,000 grant that can be claimed by up to 1,000 export-ready or export capable businesses in the state. This will allow them the flexibility they need to re-enter old markets and start over in new ones.
The Australian Government’s $25,000 HomeBuilder grant will help eligible owner-occupiers to make renovations or build entirely new homes. This grant will be especially helpful to business owners who need to renovate their stores in order to accommodate the changes and regulations that have come with COVID-19.
To aid small and medium-sized businesses in recovering from the effects of COVID-19, the Australian Government is guaranteeing 50% of loans issued by banks to small enterprises, sole traders, and non-profits. This guarantee is in place until 30 September, so now is the time to apply for a loan to get yourself back on your feet.
